I am a wife and Mom to 2 AMAZING little boys as well as a Graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Interior Design. I have always enjoyed the time spent with a camera in my hand, and I am constantly trying to learn new things to make my photos better.
I recently found myself in an interesting predicament: We had just had our second baby and I was a full-time, stay at home Mom. Previous to the birth of either child, I had been working in lighting design. After the first baby, I worked part time but upon having the second, we had decided it would be too difficult to run the kids all over Northern Kentucky to be watched by family so that I could work 20 hours a week. The hours worked would hardly cover the gas required to get me to and from work. So here I was, LOVING being home with my kids, but feeling like I needed SOMETHING to do. Something creative. Something for me that would help me find balance between being Mommy and taking pride in a skill I could offer others. I had often had the idea pop into my head of doing photography work on the side, but no sooner would the idea enter my brain, I found it would jump out just as quickly. Well, this time it stuck. And what was better, my husband had the same idea. We discussed things and realised what a great opportunity this was. I could help people out with their photography needs without "breaking the bank"! I could make single income families, like ours, feel comfortable booking a personalized photography session, knowing they aren't going to be financially strapped by doing so. After all, part of the drive behind this idea was a source of artistic enjoyment for me! The more I discussed my idea with close friends and family, it only confirmed that there were many people out there who could benefit from an affordable but creatively-minded photography source. Very quickly, I found myself with family sessions and a small wedding booked.
So there you have it! That is how it all got started!
I have a mission with this hobby of mine: To be a personalized, fun, and creative photography source that is SUPER affordable! I want my quality and pricing to make people book without hesitation. I want to make each session or event have its own look and be special and unique to the people involved and I want those people to be SHOCKED and EXCITED when they see their photos. With my pricing, I want clients to be able to afford having photos taken several times a year, not just once.
