Editing! A peek behind what I do on the computer

Here's a little peek into my editing, lovely followers! I just want to go on the record to tell the world how much I LOVE Lightroom! It is an amazing program which allows photographers to edit their shots... without destroying the quality of the image! As fun as Photoshop is, it serves a wide range of uses and I feel like I am often ADAPTING tools to work for photography. Lightroom is so specifically aimed to photographers, it makes me, giddy. I have been using this program for about a year and I have become more and more reliant on it. So much so that it has become my prime method of editing. It is amazing fun and it can do things like this edit... in a single click using one of my custom-made presets (for anyone not familiar with the term, presets are a saved grouping of settings). I have now created oodles of Presets which allow me to set all of my over 40 slide-bar settings in a single click to give an image a certain style, look, or feel. Sure, tweaks often need to be made, as not every preset works for every image... but WOW... the fun it allows me to have! Now, please don't assume this means I only do a single click and it's DONE for images hah! Sorry, guys, editing still takes time. But this program helps a ton and allows me to have fun putting my own personalized style, not just into my shooting, but also my editing. Pin-up Session FUN!

I FINALLY GOT THE CHANCE TO SHOOT A PIN-UP SESSION!  Oh my gosh, I might just switch to being pin-up-inspired shooting only! OK, maybe not... but the colors, the fun poses, the props... This is hands down, one of my favorite sessions to date!  

The girls are my cousins (3rd or 4th??? something like that) and when their Mom contacted me that they were wanting to do a pin-up shoot, I WAS SO EXCITED.  I had done a senior Session with the oldest of the 3 girls, Ashley and had a ton of fun with her.  So here are some of my favorites!!!!  ENJOY!!... and contact me if you want a pin-up session haha!

Happy Mother's Day!

Baby Stella : Newborn Session

Baby Stella.  What can I say?  A beautiful name, a beautiful Mommy and Daddy... so of course, she is stunning ;).  I loved getting to meet the new little one of my friends, Julie and Josh... although she might not have been as excited for me heheh!  She wasn't quite ready to let go of mommy on her photo day, but we went with the flow.  But who could blame her?!  She was only 6 days new and snuggles are the best things in the world, after all, no matter your age!  I loved taking photos of my friend, being such a perfect example of motherhood.  She is so calm, kind, and patient and it was an amazing thing to watch as she went through the motions of calming her newborn girl as if she had been doing it for years.  While this first image of Stella all nestled up against Julie is one of my favorites, I think the absolute top of my list shot from this day is the one of Julie bouncing Stella on the exercise ball.  This moment is near and dear to me as with my first son, this was a go-to method of newborn calming!  This shot is just, to me, true life at it's finest.  Which is what I enjoy photographing most!  A calm moment between Mommy, daughter, and of course... a canine friend, in the first days of life!  Enjoy, everyone!

Princess Paisley's 2 Year Session

THANK GOODNESS!  It was FINALLY time for me to see my special girl, Paisley, for her 2 year old session!  As usual, her Mommy (my unofficial creative director, as I refer to her!) had Brought along accessories and outfits that would make Cinderella, Aurora and all of those other well known princesses jealous!  And yes... we had the perfect setting... a castle.  What else would you expect?!  Loved this session, Love this family.  When is our next photo date, Stephanie?!

Hannah: A Fun and Cheerful Senior Session

When I think of Hannah, the words glowing, joyous, bright, and energy all come to mind.  This beautiful young lady is up for anything.  And willing to do it with a beautiful smile on her face (even when the photographer advises her to jump up on to a table top... which is apparently only supported by one side.  She'll just giggle at this.).  Working with Hannah on her senior photo Portfolio was a wonderful experience and the PERFECT way to kick off my 2014 Spring Photo Season!  I hope the rest of the year goes just like this!  ENJOY!
